Cap City VHS Fest is organized to celebrate both sides of the VHS revival by screening new, old, and rare films on VHS and offering visitors an opportunity to buy, sell, and trade tapes. In addition to local "tapeheads," several vendors active on the horror/fantasy and video trade show circuit have confirmed attendance at the event. The organizers anticipate approximately 200-300 visitors to the one-day event.

Cap City VHS Fest is hosted by Cap City Video Lounge, a unique and prominent tenant in Railroad Square Art District. Home to more than 70 shops, galleries, and other small businesses, Railroad Square routinely attracts thousands of visitors on a typical weekend day when classes at the neighboring universities and colleges are in session. The event is scheduled to take place on Saturday afternoon and evening, when traffic is usually highest and customers are especially motivated to make purchases and visit other businesses. Because of its hyper-local focus and artistic sensibility, Railroad Square attracts customers who are especially inclined to support local businesses like yours.
